Located in Paris’s 10th arrondissement, this commission aimed to create accessible storage and essential amenities within a compact 21 m² Haussmann-style apartment. The generous ceiling height made it possible to design a mezzanine storage volume containing all service functions, including the bathroom, shower, toilet, and kitchen. This sculptural block, clad in veined wood, contrasts with the existing interior and its traditional red terracotta tiles, introducing a contemporary and refined character. It also acts as a unifying element, extending into a metal bar that supports the ladder leading to the elevated spaces.
A large wardrobe and overhead storage units free up the floor area, allowing the compact layout to accommodate a living room, dining area, sleeping space, bathroom and kitchen within an efficient and flexible arrangement. Filled with natural light from large windows, the apartment offers a practical living solution in the dense urban context of Paris, emphasizing comfort and spatial optimization.
